Clinical benefit

Spectral imaging makes it possible to differentiate a true haemorrhagic transformation from a transient extravasation of the contrast medium injected during the arteriography in the context of a stroke. This differentiation is fundamental in guiding the subsequent preventive treatment and, for example, in not having an anticoagulant treatment be contra-indicated by wrongly suspecting a haemorrhagic transformation.
